Business process outsourcer (BPO) Parseq has been shortlisted for the Global Sourcing Association’s (GSA) Professional Awards for Best Overall Company Response to COVID-19.
It was essential that Parseq’s operations could continue when the UK entered lockdown in March 2020. The company provides critical payments and payroll services to the UK’s biggest banks and financial institutions and, if it grinds to a halt, people and businesses don’t get paid.
Parseq’s South Yorkshire Headquarters was given the greenlight to remain open and employees needed to process vital payments granted key worker status. But, to keep the business moving and protect staff during the biggest public health crisis in living memory, its leadership team still needed to implement a business continuity plan to meet the unique challenges posed by the pandemic quickly.
Parseq’s proactive and exemplary approach meant they played a critical role in keeping the UK’s economy moving, ensured companies and individuals were paid on time, achieved all client service delivery requirements, protected staff wellbeing and helped clients support vulnerable customers. All of which has been showcased as strategic sourcing excellence by the GSA.
Craig Naylor-Smith, CEO of Parseq, said: “I’m incredibly proud that Parseq has been recognised in the industry and shortlisted for the GSA’s award for Best Overall Company Response to COVID-19. We’ve proven our agility, resilience and commitment to going above and beyond – all while prioritising the safety of our people.
“I’ve been blown away by the sheer dedication of my own colleagues over the past few months. Thanks to a monumental team effort, we’ve executed a comprehensive business continuity plan and delivered against all client service level agreements during a period of unprecedented disruption.”
Kerry Hallard, CEO of the Global Sourcing Association UK, said: “The quality of submissions to these Awards continues to increase, as we see ever more dynamic and innovative collaborative programmes presented to us. Again this year a very impressive shortlist and all those on it should be commended.
“The industry response to COVID-19 was phenomenal. Service providers around the world really pulled out all the stops to not just keep the lights on but the wheels of industry turning for their clients. We felt it was essential to recognise these amazing contributions and collaborations and to applaud the success and highlight the importance of our industry. We have been truly amazed by the programmes and responses delivered all around the world and it makes me incredibly proud of our industry and all those within it.”
The GSA is the home of the global sourcing standard and professional body for the global sourcing industry. Parseq employs more than 300 people across four sites in the UK, and operates sites in Sofia, Bulgaria and Pune, India.
The award winners will be announced at the GSA’s first virtual awards ceremony on 12 November 2020.
