#16in16 Campaign

Trained 500 colleagues in lifesaving CPR #16in16

Every year more than 30,000 cardiac arrests happen outside of hospital in the UK, but sadly less than one in ten people survive. We’re delighted to have taken part in #16in16; a partnership between Barclays and the British Heart Foundation in their mission to train 16,000 individuals in lifesaving CPR.

Our achievements have seen over 500 of our people trained in such a vital skill and has also kept us busy in fundraising activity. We’re proud to have raised £2,846 for the British Heart Foundation which will go some way to funding CPR kits for secondary schools and help them create a nation of lifesavers.

Suzanne O’Neill, our learning and development business partner, led the roll out of the training and she shares her experience here.

By giving our employees the opportunity to undertake CPR training they may one day be able to save the life of a colleague, loved one, customer or even a stranger.

And that’s why we signed up to fight for every heartbeat.
